Helia (Marie-Hélène Mondou) offers classes at several locations on the Treasure Coast of Florida, for women of all shapes and figures. The styles of Belly Dance that inspire her take origin in the Mediterranean, North African and Middle Eastern (South West Asian) dances, Raks Sharki and Beledy; her two most influential teachers were Egyptian and Lebanese. Although she is very attached to the beauty of the moves, her classes aim at personal growth and global health, through developing a strong mind/body/spirit/environment connection. She deeply cares about her students and respects them equally, regardless of their dancing abilities. Visit the Gallery page to view photos of Helia's students. In the last few years, they performed at several Nursing Homes and Care Centers, at the Lyric Theater, at the Sunrise Theater, at the Gleason Performing Arts Center, at the Kane Center, at the Magnet School of the Arts, and at different festivals and schools. But please take note that if showtime is not your thing, one can take the class without ever performing.
